ABOUT US

Esperance Care Services (ECS) has a thriving thrift shop and boutique, offers rag and online sales as well as providing community programs and emergency relief. Our Emergency Relief Program (Community Feeding and Support Programs) is strongly supported by the community.

ECS also provides advocacy and pastoral counselling services. Esperance Care Services has had the privilege to help many in our community experiencing hardship or crisis. ECS - as shown through the COVID-19 pandemic - has the ability to react to crisis and disasters in Esperance and bring hope to people who are hurting.

Esperance Care Services is a safe place for all members of the Esperance community to find help and support - both practically and on a spiritual level. Whilst the prices on the second-hand clothes and furniture are incredible, it is the kindness and compassion of the staff and volunteers that really makes ECS the amazing community organisation it is.

We seek to relieve hardship, suffering and poverty in Esperance and the south east region of Western Australia.

OUR VISION

We see ECS as a place where those in need are empowered and equipped to change their situation for the better, where creativity and opportunity thrive. We see the cycle of poverty and hardship broken for people as they not only reimagine and find hope for themselves, but also contribute back to society through social and micro enterprise.

We see excellence in our emergency relief, advocacy and referral services as ECS serves and supports those experiencing poverty, hardship or suffering.

We see an excellent volunteer program operating that provides affordable clothing and home furnishings for those in the community. We see the whole of the Esperance community generous in heart and deed through donating new and used goods to help the disadvantaged. We see the current services expanded to meet the growing demand for what we do with the resources we receive to further our mission.

We see an army of volunteers being effectively recruited, inducted and supported to carry out the great cause of ECS. We see these volunteers honoured and recognised in the community for their hard work and benevolent spirit.

We also see people come to know their value and develop in all areas including physical, emotional, social and spiritual development and to know hope for their future.
