Esperance Care Services (ECS) exists to promote healthy family relationships and situations enabling all members of the Esperance community to experience the benefits of being part of a community where they feel valued, are accepted, and have a sense of belonging.

We achieve this in a number of ways, primarily through support in the form of emergency relief and support for those in our community who find themselves in a situation of crisis. We offer assistance of food from our pantry or via a voucher system to our local supermarkets. Clothing, furniture and household goods are also available through our Thrift Shop. Assistance with utility bills - along with some rent assistance - is available on a strictly limited basis. Pastoral counselling and advocacy are available and referrals to other services can be provided as needed.

Esperance Care Services are committed to providing a safe place for all people
and we strive to offer support in all circumstances.

Our Thrift Shop and Boutique offers a broad range of products for the household including clothing, furniture, kitchen utensils and bric-a-brac at very affordable prices. The Thrift Shop and Boutique provides a safe, friendly environment for more than forty volunteers who are vital to our success in achieving our mission “to relieve hardship, suffering and poverty in the south-east region of Western Australia”.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

Current update – as of February 2022:

The safety of our clients, customers, volunteers and staff is of paramount importance. In line with mandatory Government regulations we require all entering ECS to check in via the Government app or written record and wear a mask while in store. Sanitizing stations are provided throughout our facility. Help us to keep our community safe.

Esperance Care Services would like to encourage the community to look at the following site that contains lots of very helpful information and advice - Managing COVID at Home & In the Community

Continuing Delivery of Services

COVID-19 presented many challenges for Esperance Care Services. Having to close the door to our Shop meant the social enterprise part of ECS was no longer able to operate. The Op Shop helps fund the benevolent side of our operations. However, we were helped to keep operating behind closed doors which enabled us to continue our community service work.

Money came in for food, food vouchers, wages, shelving and so much more. ECS was able to expand its operation and become part of the front line, supporting those most vulnerable in our community.

Esperance is an amazing community and once again we have experienced the generosity of its people. A thank you must also go to our team who worked tirelessly to care for those in our community doing it tough. Though the Shop doors were closed, our dedicated staff worked behind the scenes, filling food shelves, taking calls, and making sure people knew they were cared about.

Thanks to the following supporters who have assisted us in our time of need.
